After 20 years of working primarily on the series, ‘From a Scanner, Darkly,’ I have begun experimenting with different image capture techniques. First I am using a laptop and an inexpensive, USB powered flatbed scanner in bright light for the series, ‘From a Scanner, Lightly.’ The bright light, or the sun as I call it, has interesting effects on the functioning of the scanner, leading to a very different look to the images. Secondly, I have returned to using an actual camera equipped with a pinhole lens. I am finding that learning to see as a camera does after 20 years of seeing as a scanner is harder than I anticipated. New pages have been added to the website to show the work.
